Name: Kifu Kaze Slick
Codename: -none-
Nickname(s): Keef
Gender: female
Age: 16
Status: Xavier Student
Canon: no
Typical Wardrobe: Kifu tends to wear monochromatic t-shirts that are ten sizes too big on her. They sometimes are plain, or, in most cases, have a witty pun or quote on the front. She also likes to wear blue jeans, but since the junior's pants have become too clingy, she shops in the boys' section for her pants so they're baggy and fit around her waist. In the summer she just wears any cheap shorts she can find in the stores, though she doesn't like the super short or long shorts. Kifu's costume is skin-tight and black. A yellow stripe runs up from the soles of her shoes to her hips, where it ends in a triangle and another two yellow strips run up from the edge of her costume starting at her gloves and ends on her shoulders in a rectangle of yellow. She wears custom black gloves she made for herself and rubber-soled shoes. Sometimes she throws a gray trench sometimes with really light fabric so it flutters in even the slightest wind. She also wears a black headband with tails that end at mid-back.
Physical Description: Kifu has a light bone structure, though she can brag she has never broken a bone in her life. She has a lithe physique, and she tends to be quite strong even if she doesn't look it much. Kifu's face is round-ish, with fuller cheeks and small, blue eyes. She sports a Polish nose, narrow mouth and a somewhat weak chin. Her hair is thick, and when long poker straight, but since she keeps it cut at three or four inches, it turns out to be wavy with colors in it that range from light blond to medium brown. Her eyes a almond shaped that squints when she smiles a full smile, even if it isn't often, because she normally has a straight line or a half grin showing amusement. Kifu has longer legs in proportion to her body, allowing her to be able to sprint faster than the average person, and her feet are rather large--a size ten women's, eight men's.
Powers: Kifu has a limited ability to shape-shift. The process takes from thirty to sixty seconds, and that was even after a long time of practice. In order to shift, she needs to concentrate solely on the change, afraid that if she loses it, she might not be able to leave from a middle form. The biggest limitation to her power, though, is the fact that she can only shift into one animal from each species (so if she were to shift into a wolf, she wouldn't be able to shift into a domestic dog). She cannot impersonate other humans because of this.
Personality: Kifu tends to be a more introverted person, the quiet one in the shadowy corner until someone comes up to her and tries to get to know her. She isn't a great conversationalist, but she vowed to be honest at age fourteen, and she's completely loyal to her good friends.
Strengths: Kifu's a great listener, and mediator. In an argument, as long as she isn't the person arguing (although that sometimes seems to be more often than not), she doesn't take just one side of it, but sees both people's views and tries to create a mid-point so that both sides are happy in the end. She's naturally optimistically pessimistic, but any way she says it, her happiness always shows through, which brightens some people's days in a bad situation. Kifu's also speedy on her feet, even if she doesn't have great stamina. Ever since she was able to and allowed to, Kifu studied the martial arts and has been mastering it ever since. Also, Kifu has learned German as a second language, even if she only considers herself an intermediate-beginner.
Weaknesses: Kifu can easily get very angry, even if it doesn't last for long. She's socially awkward and doesn't know how to go up to people and start a comfortable conversation. She's not a longer, she just doesn't really like people and enjoys her own company. When she does make friends, though, she can turn out to be quite a party animal and loses all control over herself, which leads to regrets later on. Kifu's afraid of falling, of ice when she doesn't have her skates on, and has a growing phobia of spiders. When she shifts, it takes a while for her to go completely of one species to the next, and doesn't take on any of the animal's natural instincts. She isn't able to communicate to humans with words, and she isn't able to talk to other animals of her kind, because their language is much like a third language to Kifu.
Random: Kifu loves learning new things, as long it interests her, otherwise she doesn't want to learn it.
History: Kifu was born in a city just out of Detroit, Michigan, but at age nine she moved to the outskirts of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She lived a normal life, until the summer between eighth and ninth grade when she hit puberty. After the pain ebbed away, Kifu attended ninth grade at the public school, but soon realized that if she had hit an emotional peak, her body changed into that of an animals. For a while, Kifu didn't tell her parents, but when she was exposed during class, the matter was taken to the principle and her parents pulled her out of school. At home, they still seemed to accept Kifu for what she was, but they knew they couldn't let their daughter stay where everyone persecuted against the family. Finally, after much research, her parents decided on a private school to send her--Xavier's School for the Gifted Youngsters. She was fifteen at the time. After making the Xavier Institute her home, Kifu still refused to go outside of her shell and make new friends, thanks to the way her old "friends" treated her when they found she was a mutant. Gradually, though, she started leaving her room to explore the hallways and the grounds, though still avoiding some contact of other students. In one year, she still didn't make one person she could call friend, except, maybe, for Xavier.

RP Example: Kifu closed her eyes as the car gently pulled to a stop. She didn't want to open them, to see the new place where she was going to live, away from her family. She wanted to be back at home, in the high school where she belonged, with all of her old friends, even though they had rejected her.
Jumping at the light touch on her shoulder, her eyes flew open to meet the eyes of her mother. She was leaning across the car, a concerned expression clearly showing. "Are you alright, honey?" she asked softly, straightening out again in front of the steering wheel. Kifu wasn't even able to take the first segment of driver's education, thanks to her cursed morphing powers. She just wished she had better control over them.
"I don't know," Kifu replied, bowing her head. She still didn't want to look through her window to see her new home. She was sad enough that she had caught a glimpse of the high, brick wall and the iron gate that was open to vehicles. "I want to go home," she cried, feeling like she was five instead of fifteen.
"You'll be fine here, sweetie," was her mother's reply. She gave Kifu's shoulder a rub, and then opened the car door and got out. Taking a deep breath, Kifu did the same. Shakily, she got out of the car, resting her eyes on the building in front of her. There was no denying it; it was a beautiful school. Ivory clung to the sides of the mansion and a lot of windows found spaces between the plant. Two gigantic doors opened up into what could only be the lobby.
Kifu's attention was brought back to her mom when she stopped next to her. "Ready to meet your principle?" she asked.
Kifu let a small smile show, even though all happiness seemed to be gone. "I don't think he would be called a principle, mom," she said, trying to shake the weight off of her voice. It wasn't right for someone her age to be so down.
"Then what would he be called?"
Kifu shrugged, taking the lead. "Don't know. Let's ask him." Her feet crunched on the driveway as she made her way through the doors for her first time of many.
